Description
Kati Kati is a traditional dish from the Northwest region of Cameroon, loved for its smoky, savory flavors. It is made by grilling chicken until slightly charred, then simmering it in palm oil with onions, spices, and sometimes pepper to create a rich, smoky palm oil sauce that coats the meat. The dish is hearty, rustic, and deeply flavorful, often enjoyed during family gatherings, traditional ceremonies, and festive occasions.
Kati Kati is almost always paired with fufu corn (a smooth, dough-like staple made by stirring maize flour into boiling water until firm). The soft, stretchy fufu perfectly complements the rich, oily chicken, making the combination one of Cameroon’s most iconic meals.
