Description
Ndolé is one of Cameroon’s most iconic and beloved national dishes. It is a rich, hearty stew made with bitterleaf (ndolé leaves) simmered in a flavorful peanut paste and infused with spices, aromatic seasonings, and oil. It is cooked with either beef, goat meat, or fish, often complemented by shrimp for extra depth. The dish balances the slightly bitter taste of the leaves with the creaminess of ground peanuts and the savoriness of meat or seafood. Served with plantains or rice.
